Weddings

March 30th, 2008

Weddings are traditionally (but not exclusively) a religious ceremony between two people who are forming a union; although the traditional marriage ceremony have seen a decline, there are now many other methods to confirm your union. Despite the religious aspect to a marriage, it is still a legal matter; the law requires that the couple sign the marriage certificate in front of witnesses before the marriage can be legally accepted. There are a great many traditions around the world but the terms bride and groom before the couple are married are seemingly universal; the terms husband and wife are then the traditional terms to use after the ceremony.

 Church Ceremonies

Other wedding traditions vary according to the religion, race, ethnic group and even class the couple may belong too. Traditionally the church is the most popular venue, where the ceremony is presided over by a Christian priest. Of course we all know and love the white wedding but this is not the generally accepted form of ceremony in every Christian country.

 Twin Ceremonies

A different type occasion often difficult to arrange is where two couples are married simultaneously; this often happens where a person has a brother or sister that decides to tie the knot at the same time and it is not unheard of for two brothers to marry two sisters this way.

Weddings in a Foreign Country </P>

These days it is easy for couples to arrange a wedding in another country and have the guests travel to them with the honeymoon continuing afterwards; whether this happens for an intimate beach ceremony in the Caribbean, or extravagant nuptials in Las Vegas, it will qualify as a destination wedding.

 Activity weekend Weddings

A weekend wedding is where couples and their guests celebrate over the course of a weekend. Special activities, such as spa treatments and golf tournaments, are scheduled into the itinerary for guests’ enjoyment throughout the weekend. Usually the accommodation for the guests is part of the package and often includes a Sunday lunch or something similar.

 Online Marriages

An online wedding is conducted on the internet which can resemble a normal ceremony; there are even guides for information on how to go about an internet ceremony with information on people that can carry it out for you. Marriages that are broadcast live online are also referred to as online weddings.

Civil Ceremonies Elected and appointed officials can carry out a marriage ceremony which is usually called a civil wedding. For people that elect this type of ceremony it is not important to them if God or religion is referred to in such a brief service. These services are brief and to the point because they are a legal procedure and the couple getting married does not mind the circumstances of the marriage, just the fact that they are married.

The information provided here is mainly about weddings and marriage in the Western world primarily based on and around Christian beliefs.

Fun and Games and Humor.

March 22nd, 2008

What do you find fun in every day life ?
Are you able to turn every day tasks into games ?
Can you find the humor in normal mundane tasks ?

I can’t. But, I am interested to hear stories of how people are able to :)

Last week I went skydiving…

March 19th, 2008

So, I am skydiving from 30,000 feet… and my parachute wont open… I am totally panicking… 20,000 feet… I still cant get my parachute to open… 10,000 feet… now I am in real trouble… I can start seeing the buildings and backyards and people walking around… 1,000 feet… well, there is a trampoline, maybe if I land on it, it will absorb my fall… wham, boing… I bounce off the trampoline and right into the neighbors pool… but, I am alive… a little wet, but I am alive and breathing…

Believe it ?
